Routing Tables

Routing is controlled both by configuring devices (i.e. routes to directly connected networks) and using the 'route' command (to add routes either to remote networks or to "aliased" local networks.

A most important route to add on a machine is the default route. The router address mentioned in the default route must be on a directly-attached network.
