Page 4: Advantages of Linux Install-on-the-fly



Linux Install-on-the-fly:

  1. No need for commercial (and expensive) programs.

  2. No need to disassamble any machine. Just to use ''as is''.

  3. No need to have preinstalled machine as master. We can use one as NFS server, but it's not a must.

  4. No need to ''pre-install'' Linux on the target machine.

  5. We are not bind to one unite hardware setup. I have installed from the same floppy to SCSI, RAID (hardware), and IDE machies, doing just the same.

  6. A bit tricky about video settings (we'll see that in the future).



So actually we get a reliable, fast, cheap method, which requires no previous settings per machine.
